OXFORD, PENNSYLVANIA
3D Collision Centers has officially launched its STOP Distracted Driving Campaign across Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties as of Monday, September 11th, 2017. Oxford Area High School was the first school to have a totaled car parked on their front lawn. This installation brought the school and community-wide discussions to the forefront about this very sensitive and concerning subject.
This campaign was developed by 3D Collision Centers in an effort to help save lives. The wrecked car is a daunting reminder to stop distracted driving behaviors such as texting, eating, talking on the phone, grooming, operating the radio or navigation system, and any other activity that might divert the driver’s attention away from the task of driving.
This topic is one of great importance to Oxford Area High School Highway Safety teacher, Michael Pietlock. “As a teacher, anytime that you can connect the lesson to something tangible, it provides more impact. For me, to be talking about distractions and being able to point out the window to the damaged car, it gives the kids a real look at the consequences of their choices.”
Oxford Area High School Dean of Students, Andrew Wendle also adds; “We look forward to any opportunity to help our students live safe and productive lives. Our partnership with 3D Collision Centers undoubtedly helped make our school community more aware of the dangers of distracted driving.”
James A. Canaday, Oxford Area High School Principal mentions; “Our goal in partnering with the Stop Distracted Driving campaign was to plant a seed in the minds of our students that distracted driving has real-life consequences. Along with the wrecked vehicle, during Homecoming Week, we ran daily announcements to highlight the need to make good choices behind the wheel. I am confident that our partnership with the campaign made an impact on our students.”
3D Collision Centers will be bringing this campaign to several other schools in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties throughout the year. Please contact us if you would like to join the fight to stop distracted driving and save lives.
